Leadership to speak on social media screening while ensuring compliance.
AmericanChecked President and CEO Julie Hakman and VP of Business Development Kelli Weaver will speak at the annual Oklahoma Indian Gaming Association Conference and Tradeshow on social media screening trends in the background screening industry.
The presentation, titled “Social Media: Think Before You Act, Twice Before you Speak and Three Times Before You Post” is one of AmericanChecked’s most popular topics. According to a 2017 CareerBuilder Survey, 70 percent of companies conduct social media background checks and most conduct them in-house, opening their organizations up to Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) lawsuits. FCRA lawsuits affect all industries, even tribal entities.
Julie and Kelli cover how to build in safeguards into a background screening program that protect against common pitfalls when conducting social media screening like viewing protected class information that should not impact hiring decisions.
The presentation will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at the Cox Business Services Convention Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
