Turnaround times are based on business days. Courts are typically closed weekends and holidays. Submit orders as early as possible during the day for best turnaround time. Criminal record orders received after 3:00 p.m. (CST) will be researched the following work day as many courts close mid-afternoon.
Out of a total of 3,144 counties in the country, hundreds are considered “Mercy of Court.” When performing a criminal record search in one of these counties, the researcher is literally “at the mercy of the court” since only court personnel can perform the needed research. Therefore, turnaround time varies.

On June 25, 2011, the Social Security Administration switched to “Randomization” in the assignment of new social security numbers. The date and state of issuance can no longer be verified if the social security number was issued after June 25, 2011 as the SSA no longer updates the database.
As a solution to the SSA’s switch to “Randomization,” AmericanChecked offers a product called CBSV (Consent Based Social Security Number Verification). If an SSN was issued after June 25, 2011 and we are unable to verify it through the SSN Track database, the CBSV product, requiring a special, signed authorization, is available and does match the name with the SSN. Details about this product are available by emailing info@americanchecked.com or calling 800-975-9876.

A federal criminal records search provides criminal filings in any of the nation’s 300 plus Federal District Courts. Federal crimes such as embezzlement, drug trafficking, bank robbery, tax evasion, kidnapping and other offenses against the United States as well as crimes committed on federal property typically do not appear in state or county court record searches. Federal records are searched via the applicable federal district court and in conjunctions with the county of residence. Information provided typically includes case number, charge, date of filing as well as the current status or disposition of the case. AmericanChecked offers a comprehensive statewide federal search which will search all federal districts found in the applicable state,
The Nationwide Criminal Database is comprised of information we gather from several agencies, such as departments of correction, courts and law enforcement. It’s important to keep in mind that not all states provide the same information and cases may lack disposition. Because this is a database search, the information it contains is not always the most up to date. AmericanChecked never recommends using the Nationwide Criminal Database as a standalone product even though all records identified are verified before reporting; rather, it should be used in conjunction with a county or statewide criminal record search. The county search is the birthplace of the record and contains the most accurate and up-to-date information. We send a researcher to the county court to gather the needed records. The state repository is another great search; however, it is only as good as the county courts participating.
